This could be a lot easier if a person like this may run for office successfully
I will preface this by stating I do not think it's a bad thing for them to bring awareness to the issue. It's important that it can't only be ignored by taking a look from it. That said, I do hold a certain amount of doubt towards multi-billion dollar multinational corporations paying lip service to significant social problems. Of course, as a capitalist business they're under no obligation to do so, and it rings hollow when they try to stand in solidarity with all the common men and women. Currently there are businesses out there that do things and this is the opportunity to highlight those efforts; to demonstrate that they're more than simply words.
I would normally agree in the case of paying lip service to social problems without also putting money and support to advocate for change or implementing it to the company and their job in the very least. Having said that police brutality isn't just something that a company like EA throwing money at the problem does much towards fixing. At best they put money towards the lawyers and groups that struggle to see justice after the fact or lobby to have laws changed that in the present government will not. It has systemic difficulties within authorities of not reporting their own and holding them accountable rather staying silent and with the authorities unions which allow it all to occur or in ways even promote it by the repercussions being a slap on the wrist followed by being hired at another precinct showing them there's no consequences. Before even getting to laws and rulings such as qualified immunity that shield abusive cops and permit them to misuse their power . The majority of which EA and many capitalist companies aren't able to do all that much about making it unfair to say they're in the best possible position to do much more.
Those in the best possible place to do more are the supposed good cops by no longer remaining quiet and allowing bad cops to eliminate their abuse of power or voting for superior direction for their marriages which won't enable the behaviour. However, of course it's just words. Businesses will only ever do these things once public opinion has turned into one way. Even if all businesses ceased doing things wrong, it is going to take a long, long time for that picture of corporate America to lose its tarnish. Part of what people can do is elect politicians who promise they'll hold these corporations accountable. It probably won't happen by itself. This could be a lot easier if a person like this may run for office successfully.
