Or, you can do exactly the matter in Null, then AFK traveling back if your bus reached its destination or your children needed food. How is an extended period trip making any difference in these types of scenarios? If you're doing chores until you hear a ding, there is no practical difference between 5 minutes or 10. I say remove Autopilot from Nullsec entirely and make it completely safe in lowsec. Yes, get rid of the dumb thing where you can use autopilot as a get-out-of-jail free card just like they did, which was terrible.
When did devs say afk travel would be fully safe? I am curious, because if they did say that then safe autopilot couldn't have been a bug. It's not more or less afk travel. That has a consequence of being safe, particularly if you chose"select safer" that is supposed to prevent 0.4 and reduced. It does not always (due to bugs) and can not always (because of some high sec systems being surrounded by low sec).
I never assumed it was secure; I'd just assumed mobile sucked enough that nobody could lock on fast enough. Occasionally, when I'd be semi-afk traveling, I would see a little damage done to protects when passing through null-sec. This made me believe once larger ships came in I would be able to become one-hit, and it would no longer be secure.
